*Sgt John Scholes was killed on 6 June 1942 when Hurricane BE644 crashed on at Benington, Hertfordshire, while on a flying test. He is commemorated on the RAF Hunsdon memorial.

*Both men were killed on 24th February 1944 when Mosquito LR343 broke up in the air 2 miles north of Nuthampstead, Hertfordshire, during a night flying test. They are commemorated on the RAF Hunsdon memorial.
